2012 Blue Platypus Arts Centre Gold Coast Online Marketing Prize

Blue Platypus is proud to support the local arts community through the gift of a complete online marketing package worth more than $3500 for a local artist or arts organisation. This is a joint initiative between Blue Platypus and Arts Centre Gold Coast. This opportunity is open to individuals, groups and organisations across all sectors of the arts on the Gold Coast.

The winning package includes

Virtually everything you need to set up a professional online presence is included…

• Up to 10 pages laid out
• Easy-to-edit, SEO-friendly content management system
• Configure email/s and provide instructions for your email set up
• Look and feel using colours, logo and other image assets provided by you
• 3 rounds of changes
• Your own digital photos and up to 3 stock photos resized to suit
• Training resources via email (web-based videos and written tutorials)
• Link to social media sites (Twitter, Facebook, Myspace)
• Basic search engine optimisation to assist Google indexing:
• 2 hours of face or phone time with director of Blue Platypus to develop online strategies and discuss web marketing ideas including social media
• Social media strategy and one month’s Facebook content development (Copy for 20 posts)
• Set up Facebook business page linked to Twitter account
• 1 hour of content updates per month for 1 year (content supplied by you)
• Hosting for one year
• Domain name for two years

Total package is worth over $3500

Application criteria

Your application must demonstrate:

• Artistic innovation
• Viability of your proposed goals and activities
• Your commitment
• Your relevant artistic or professional skills

We recommend you briefly answer the following questions; however you may choose to address the above criteria in any way that you see fit… just so long as it can be emailed!

• Please provide a description of your work as an artist including your objectives and planned activities and target audiences.
• Please provide a brief biography of the people involved including artistic or professional skills and past achievements.
• Please describe your objectives for the website.

The information you provide will be made available to Blue Platypus and The Arts Centre Gold Coast for the purpose of assessment in order to identify a recipient of the above online marketing package. Blue Platypus in conjunction with The Arts Centre Gold Coast will be the sole decision makers in relation to providing the online marketing package described above. The judges’ decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.

The winner of the 2011 Blue Platypus Arts Centre Gold Coast Online Marketing Prize was Gallery on the Lane. Gallery on the Lane is a unique space open in the heart of Southport, dedicated to showcasing a contemporary range of photography and art from Australia and overseas.
